Day 14: A picture of you last year - how have you changed?

So this picture was taken last year when my family went to the museum. How have I changed since then? Well for one thing, I'm not about to be eaten by a dinosaur skeleton anymore :) Also, I am a sophomore in college now (almost a junior!), I have been volunteering at a hospital for about a year, I started going to a student ward, I fell in love with Thai food, I read Jane Eyre (again :), and I met a few new peeps, and I got called to be a ward missionary, and in one month I will put in my official application for the nursing program!! Other than that, I'm pretty much the same as ever, I go to school, I stay with my familia, aaaaaaand I have a dog, who is a little insane :) That's about it :)

Day 13: Goals

I have a lot of goals. And they are always changing. But basically, here are a few:
1. I want to spend eternity with my family. This one's a biggie :)
2. I want to be a nurse!!! And I'm halfway there :) This is the snazzy uniform I get to wear next year (assuming I get in :) (Yes, the pants are totally see-through, Yikes!)
3. I want to be a mommy :) Not right now or anything, but someday :)
4. I want to memorize Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata on the piano
5. I want to read about a bagillion books, which would take too much space to list here, someday I will make you a list, but not today :)
6. And finally, I want to be as amazing as all the people I love and look up to, including but not limited to these fine folks:

Skellington

Day 12: Something you don't leave the house without

The things I don't leave the house without are pretty basic, phone, pepper spray, and keys, complete with Jack Skellington keychain:

Found this at Blockbuster the other week whilst I was renting a movie. Best purchase of my life. Okay not really, but I still like it, it has a frowning face on the back, which is slightly less creepy than the smiley face :)

TV

Day 11: Favorite TV shows
So I don't actually watch most of these on TV, so this is actually my favorite Netflix TV shows list. This is my top ten in no particular order:
1. Psych
This show is hilarious. Makes me laugh. Nuff said.
2. Monk
This show is similary to Psych, but totally different, also Hilarious.
This show is fabulous, there is also a movie (Serenity) made about the same story. It's pretty much epic.
I only like the first season of this show, but it is also fabulous.
I love this show, obviously. The cast is super funny and I love all the stunts they do. My favorite was the one about whether or not we walked on the moon.
I grew up on this show, when I was little it freaked me out, but now I just love it.
I don't know if this counts as a TV show, but they make all the Jane Austen-type movies, and they do a pretty awesome job most of the time.
So one time on Halloween they showed this show alllll day, and I watched it for like 3 or 4 hours, it's pretty funny.
Also grew up on this show, it's just hilarious. Pretty much the same story every time, but I still love t.
I love this cartoon. I've seen every single episode ever. It's awesome!!
So that's pretty much it. I don't really watch any of these consistently, but they're always good for when I'm bored and have too much time and too little motivation to do anything productive :)

Scaredy Cat

Hey all, guess what, Spring Break is here!!!! No homework for a week!! And what will I be doing you may ask? Studying!!! Wooo! Yup, I know how to party it up on vacation :)
Anywho, today's post is: Day 10: Something you're afraid of
So I'm pretty much afraid of a lot of things...but the first thing that comes to mind is SCORPIONS!!!
Secretly I think they are super cool, just like I think spiders and snakes are super cool, but I do not like to have them near me unless we are separated by a glass wall or something. I'm seriously a wimp around them it's kind of sad. I've even been stung, twice. It HURTS!!!!!!
But they are still amazing little guys, if you don't live in a place where th
ere are scorpions, you should definitely come visit me this summer so we can go scorpion hunting. It's superfun, because if you have a UV flashlight, they look like this:
Yup, they are fluorescent. Awesome. Also they are hard to kill. I mean, easy to squish, but other than that, they are super resilient. One time my mom and I were trying to figure out the best way to kill a scorpion. So we put one in a cup and put some alcohol in there which usually works pretty well with most bugs. But not this one. They also apparently can live months in a jar without food...but I don't really want to test that because it makes me feel like I'm causing needless suffering and torture and stuff. So I just stick with the squishing. Bleach works pretty well too, but squishing is easier.

Celery

Day 9: A favorite picture of your best friend
So basically I met Celery when I was 12 and had just moved to a new place, and she was pretty much the bombdotcom, and we have been buds ever since!! The above is one of her portraits, this one is of us picking fruit:
Cause we're cool like that, note our awesome sauce disguises!

Oh the Places I'll Go

Day 8: A place you've traveled to
So I have only traveled to a few places in the States, including California, several parts of Idaho, a couple places in Arizona, Utah, South Carolina...and I think that's pretty much it. I've driven through part of Montana and Georgia. Someday, however, I will rectify this situation, and forty years from now or so I will redo this post and it will include Africa, Italy, Russia, Ireland, Germany, Brazil, and pretty much everywhere else :)
But so far one of my favorite places to go has been Havasupai. It was miserable getting there because I had to hike 13 miles to get there, but it was so pretty and I got to swim in this:
It was awesome. Until I got sucked over a few mini-waterfalls and bashed my knee on some rocks and I wasn't a super good swimmer so I almost drowned in the deep end after the mini waterfalls. But it was still fun :) On the way into the canyon I met a stray dog and gave him some jerky and named him Rover. He hiked most of the way with me, it was pretty cute :)
